I lack substance
At least today. I'm sorry I didn't post yesterday, and I don't feel like I have anything thoughtful to write about today. So I think I'll post some of the 'cookery' stuff I've listed in my description. I still have to figure out if I do want to take the step of photographing things I make and posting recipes of that sort. We'll see.
Yesterday, I baked some bread. I made the Milk Bread from the Joy of Cooking. During the 2nd rising, I accidentally let it over-rise, and only just caught it before some of my dough escaped to the bottom of my oven¹. Luckily, it was saved with some extra kneading and a half hour of rising. Even though I'm reasonably new to bread baking, I'm really enjoying it so far. There is something really nice about it, relaxing even.
Otherwise, I don't know, here are the last 5 recipes I thought looked interesting and I'd like to try some day, so I bookmarked.

Otherwise, I don't know, here are the last 5 recipes I thought looked interesting and I'd like to try some day, so I bookmarked.
- Irish Beef Stew: With St. Patrick's Day coming up, there are a number of recipes out there. This may or may not stay in my very large folder of recipes I've bookmarked.
- Rogan Josh (Lamb Curry): I am a big fan of curries, though I haven't yet made Rogan Josh from scratch. This looks like a good one, with a little bit of heat but not too much.
- Dry Indian Pepper Chicken-Pepper Chicken Masala Recipe: This is another recipe that looks like it's easy and packed full of flavor. I also really like that it is a recipe for 2 people, and I don't have to fuss around with halving it, or making sure I have space in my freezer for leftovers. (I don't really.)
- Burmese Meatball Curry: Another curry. Yeah, I told you I love them right? This is also another way to use ground beef. I like having some variations, and I don't always want to make spaghetti and meatballs when I have some ground beef I want to use.
- Chocolate Truffle Cake: It would hardly be my list if it didn't include some sort of baked good. I enjoy cooking a lot, but when I get a mood to be in the kitchen it's more often to bake something. The down side is I don't have a lot of people close to me to eat my baked goods. Often, after I've finished baking, I don't really want to eat what I've just baked, so I like to have other people around to eat it.
And now, just to brighten your day.
